Wall cladding is where natural stone does the most visible work in a building, and where the choice between patterns matters most. A stacked stone wall and a flat honed panel wall use the same material and produce entirely different architecture.
We produce both adhered systems — stacked stone, ledgestone, split face and flat tile bonded to a prepared substrate — and thicker panels machined for mechanical fixing to an engineer's detail.
Specification notes
Adhered or mechanically fixed
Adhered cladding is faster and cheaper up to the height your local code permits. Above that, mechanical fixing is required and the stone must be cut thicker and machined for the system.
Order corner pieces
Mitred L-corners are the item most often forgotten at enquiry stage. Quantify them by linear metre of external corner.
Consider the light
Split face and stacked patterns depend on directional light for their effect. On a permanently shaded elevation a flat honed panel often reads better.
Material follows exposure
Andesite and lava stone for fully exposed exteriors; limestone and sandstone for interiors and shaded positions.

Volcanic andesite
Andesite Stone
A dense grey volcanic stone with high compressive strength and very consistent colour. The most widely specified Indonesian stone for paving, cladding, coping and high-traffic commercial surfaces.

Indonesian basalt from the Java volcanic belt, quarried as a dense dark stone with fine natural porosity. Specified where architecture calls for depth, matte darkness and a surface that stays visually calm in strong sunlight.
