Green Stone Wellness Centre
Sukabumi green throughout the wet zones — hammam, plunge pools and wet lounges — with natural pebble mosaic on the water-feature walls where moving water needed a surface to break against.
Project detail
Thermal cycling was the technical constraint. Hammam surfaces move between ambient and steam temperature several times a day, which is demanding on any adhered stone. Fixing system and joint width were specified with that in mind rather than to the standard wet-area detail.
The plunge pools use the same honed green stone as the wall cladding, so the water and the walls read as one continuous material rather than a pool set into a room.
Natural rounded pebble — not sliced — was used on the water-feature walls specifically because the rounded profile breaks falling water into visible movement. Sliced pebble would have let it sheet.
